We’ve redesigned the success screen at the end of your profile creation flow, and no, it’s not just because we love fancy animations (though they’re pretty slick). We’re now making it easier—and way more fun—to rate BokBok on the App Store and Google Play.

Now, we get it. Asking for reviews isn’t the sexiest feature update. But here’s the deal: the more good reviews we get, the more amazing people join the app, which means better matches for you. So if you love what we’re building, take five seconds to drop a review. Honest ones only—we’re not about that fake five-star life.

🔥 Smarter Matches, Better Dates

We’ve all been there—swiping past a sea of profiles with nothing but a blurry selfie and a single emoji as a bio. It’s frustrating, right? That’s why we’ve upgraded our matching algorithm to prioritize profiles with more information and higher-quality content. This means that the people putting in effort—the ones actually looking for something real—will show up first.

Oh, and if you’re an active user? You’ll also get bumped up in visibility. No more seeing profiles from people who haven’t logged in since 2022. We’ve updated the copy on our profile creation screens to make one thing crystal clear: videos are the heart of BokBok. Not only do they make profiles way more engaging, but they also increase your chances of matching by 4x. That’s right—FOUR TIMES more likely to get a match just by adding a video. We’re not making this up, and we’re certainly not just trying to fill your camera roll with awkward selfie videos. This is the future of dating, and we’re making sure everyone knows it.

To make things even easier, we’ve added a profile overview screen after creation. This way, you get a chance to fine-tune your profile before diving into the dating pool. If you skipped adding a video the first time, this is your perfect second chance. (No pressure, but… you should definitely do it.)

💬 Find Your Matches Faster

We’ve updated chat sorting to put your most recent matches—or anyone who’s messaged you—right at the top. No more digging through endless chats—now, your best convos are always easy to find. It’s all about keeping the good stuff within reach, because sometimes the best moments come from picking up where you left off.

📍 Location Clarity: Less Confusion, More Connections

Long-distance matches can be a bit tricky, and we don’t want anyone getting confused about how far away their potential date actually is. Now, instead of showing an exact number when someone is beyond your selected distance radius, we’ll simply say they’re “more than X miles away.” Because let’s be real—if they’re way out of your range, does it really matter if they’re 237 or 238 miles away? Didn’t think so.

We’ve added a new update banner that lets you know when there’s a new version of BokBok available. If the update is optional, you can decide when to install it, but if it’s mandatory, you’ll see a dedicated screen prompting you to update. This ensures you’re always using the best (and bug-free) version of the app.
