App Update #4: When Apple Gives You Lemons… Build Cooler Features!

BokBok! Things got a tad unexpected behind the scenes recently. While we were navigating some discussions with Apple (more on that below!), we decided downtime doesn't mean nap time. Instead, we used this pause to build some exciting features we’ve been wanting to bring you for ages!

The App Store Adventure 🍏

So, about that little App Store hiccup... Long story short – our app took a short vacation because Apple wasn't too keen on the word "random" in our description. Yep, sometimes it's the little things! That meant tweaking text, submitting new versions, and waiting a bit. Glamorous, right?

A New Welcome Experience ✨

First up: we've jazzed up the Welcome screen! Now you'll see a brand-new video that showcases the diverse and creative ways people use BokBok profiles. Instant inspiration for your own profile, right when you open the app. We're pretty proud of it – go take a look!

1-on-1 Video Dates Are Here! 💘

And now, the BIG news...🥁
You can now go on 1-on-1 video dates directly with your matches!

We always felt like something was missing without the option to schedule a proper video call with someone you've already connected with. Well – it's here.

How it works:

A banner will appear in your chat with a match.

Tap ‘Start’, send the date request.

Once your match accepts – your video date is set!

We'll send you both a reminder (though we bet you won’t need it 😉).

It took some serious puzzle-solving to build this, but we’re thrilled it’s live. We hope it helps you build even deeper connections.

Bug Zappin’ & Tiny Tweaks 🐞

Of course, no update is complete without a clean-up. We fixed a few minor bugs and made some tweaks under the hood to keep things running smoothly.

What’s Next? 🚀 

Our top priority: getting BokBok back on the App Store ASAP. Once we’re live again, we’ll be testing these new features thoroughly. After that – it’s go time. We’re aiming to bring BokBok to even more people.

Feels like we keep saying “soon”... but this time, we really mean it.
